SAVE OUR 6TH GRADE TEAM!

Aloha Parents, Community Members, and Donors,

We have some exciting updates! First off, we want to thank everyone who donated and spread the word about our 6th-grade teacher campaign. The outpouring of support has been incredible, and we thank you for making this campaign such a success.

We are also excited to announce that we just received a generous donation from Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg through the Chan Zuckerberg Kauai Community Fund of the Hawaii Community Foundation to cover the remaining funds we need to reach our $35,000 goal! We are so grateful to Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg for their generous gift to Hanalei School. With their donation, we can now secure our 6th grade teaching team for next year, and just under the wire of our June 1st deadline! Mahalo nui loa!

We will be keeping our GoFundme live so we can continue to raise funds for our Hanalei PTA general fund. Due to the pandemic, the Hanalei PTA has not been able to hold their annual Starry Nights fundraiser and as a result, we are still in need of additional funds to support critical needs for the school. So please continue to share the GoFundme campaign and keep the donations coming.

All funds that we receive beyond $35,000 will go to the Hanalei PTA to cover future staffing shortages, the cost of enrichment teachers, and support for engaging school-wide educational programs. Thank you all for helping us weather through this crazy year by making our dreams come true for next year. . .and beyond.

‘A‘ohe hana nui ke alu ‘ia – No task is too big when done together by all.

Mahalo,
The 5th Grade Parent Fundraising Team, the Hanalei PTA, and our 6th-grade teaching team.
